For Friday:

Read the first nine chapters of The Bell Jar.  Write three journals commenting on Esther as a person and a character.  Cite textual evidence to support your thoughts. 

 

In class Tuesday:

We read through some Sylvia Plath poetry.  Each student then signed up for one poem to write a journal on that includes thoughts on the poem's main ideas, tone, and the characterization of the poet's style.
